Aranya Earthcraft was founded by Vivek Dr. Vivek Prasad & Preeti Gupta in 2005 with a great concern towards preserving the environment and remaining as sustainable as feasible; also, bringing back the ancient art of papier-mache, which has been reduced to a very small number of variations in modern times, despite this substance having been extensively studied in the eighteenth century.  They are a group of artists who use papier-mache to create some intriguing and environmentally friendly art pieces. Paper Mâché and Its Artistic Journey in India  “Papier-mâché craft” refers to a broad category of commonplace small objects that have been around for a very long time. However, they were unaware that, in the early eighteenth century, foreign traders used it extensively.   Many Asian nations have utilized papier-mâché to create ornaments and gifts. Europe, on the other hand, employed this material to create larger objects, such as furniture and wall and ceiling decorations, because they saw it more broadly. Now, a group of artisans who journeyed from Persia to Kashmir brought papier-mâché to “India”. The Kashmiri artisans were also trained in various crafts like naqashi, woodworking, and pashmina embroidery, as well as the art of papier-mâché.  This trade is practised in several Indian states, each with its manufacturing method. The three states of Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Bihar are mostly known for their elaborate papier-mâché crafts, each of which is made using a different technique. Rajasthani process of making papier-mâché Aranya Earthcraft uses an ancient Rajasthani method of creating papier-mâché that involves combining paper pulp, edible glue (khane wala gond), and white clay (khadiya mitti). Every artwork they produce is a reflection of their artistic journey; the feelings of people and the natural environment serve as their initial sources of inspiration.  The fundamental principle behind their art/design concept is modernizing the source of their motivation.
